Surrey's Large Item Pickup Program lets households schedule up to six items per year for free. Bag mattresses, remove propane tanks, and keep items accessible for collection between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Book online or by phone and place items at the designated location by 7:30 a.m. on the scheduled day. Leave items accessible until 7:30 p.m. as different trucks collect different materials.

Limits

Up to six items per household per year (eight with a registered secondary suite). Apartments and condos with City recycling can schedule four items per unit per year through property managers. Mattresses must be bagged in clear plastic.

Fees: Large item pickup is free within annual limits. Self-haul disposal fees follow Metro Vancouver rates.

Illegal dumping

Report issues online or call 604-591-4152. Items placed out without a booking may be treated as illegal dumping.

Report abandoned piles or improper dumping immediately.

Place items on the curb no more than 24 hours in advance and separate metal or hazardous items as required by your municipality.

Holiday shifts
Regular pickups occur on most holidays except December 25 and January 1. If your booking falls on these dates, the City will provide a new appointment date.
