- In most neighborhoods, collection is suspended on New Year's Day, Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. During these weeks, pickup shifts one day later. French Quarter and Downtown Development District receive daily trash collection with some holiday exceptions.
